Berlin 2009

Exhausted and energized....that's how I would describe how I feel after Emilee's and my first "trip" in Europe. We left for Berlin on Thursday on the ICE train (six hours) and returned around 6:30 a.m (sleeper train) on Sunday morning. We put in 12 hour days and as a result, I slept a full 12 hours when I returned! BUT, it was so exhilarating to see what I was not allowed to see when I traveled to Europe in 1978! The Wall was still up, Communism was still in place, and East Berlin was verboten!

Lee visited Berlin at Christmastime with Emilee, Alan, and Luke, and despite the frigid temperatures, said it was his favorite city so far. I can see why. There was so much to see and we only saw a very small portion, but enough to whet my appetite. Someday I will return (hopefully), and see more of the museums. But for now, I will post photos of what we did see.

First and foremost - The Wall:
