Countdown!

One week from tomorrow! The time is almost here....So much to do, so little time! Time has a way of doing that - sneaking up on you! Sometimes it just drags on, but other times it just seems as though there's been a time warp....a "wrinkle in time"....a "tesseract". I am not wishing the time will fly by because if it flies by for the trip to arrive, then the trip will fly by also, right?

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my Eurailpasses. If they don't arrive soon, Lee will have to overnight them to Emilee and me in Germany! Word of warning: If you ever decide to buy Eurailpasses, buy as early as you can...up to six months in advance. I learned the hard way. I planned to buy early this week but let one day go by after getting my money....The very next day the price had gone up by about $70! There is a disclaimer on the website saying the prices can change daily! They mean it! The closer it gets to summer, the more they go up. BUY EARLY!

I thought the same thing would happen with my plane tickets, because that's what happened last summer. So, I bought them when I started noticing the prices weren't going down anymore, but had started to creep up. Then, wouldn't you know it, a month later, the prices started dropping again. It's this weakened economy. Playing havoc with the dollar/euro. Since October I've watched the dollar strengthening against the euro, but in the past two weeks.....ZOOM, going right back down! I should've had Emilee buy euros in the spring. Oh well, live and learn. Still, the dollar is stronger than it was last summer when I visited. We'll just have to budget wisely and try to travel "through the back door".
